Incident Management & Maintenance
Learn how to report system outages, publish timeline status updates for your customers, and configure planned maintenance windows.
Incident Tracking
Incidents represent events affecting the availability or performance of your systems. They allow structured internal and public communication of outages and progress updates.
Automatic Creation
When a monitor exceeds the consecutive failure threshold, the system automatically creates a critical incident and triggers alerting.
Manual Reports
You can report incidents manually to announce system-wide issues like external API outages or regional network latency.
Scheduled Maintenance
Scheduled maintenance windows let you plan service updates or hardware replacement ahead of time. During the defined timeframe:
- **Alert Suppression:** All alerts and notifications (Slack, Email, Discord) are silenced to prevent noisy alarms during updates.
- **Public Status State:** Monitors are visually shown as 'Under Maintenance' instead of marking them as offline or failed.
- **Uptime Protection:** Failures detected during scheduled windows do not negatively affect your historical uptime percentage.
How to Configure Maintenance
1. Navigate to the **Maintenance** section in your dashboard navigation.
2. Select the target monitor (or choose the entire project to schedule general maintenance).
3. Choose the exact start date/time and end date/time.
4. Save changes. The monitoring agent checks scheduled schedules dynamically and toggles alert suppression automatically.
